A finely-tuned, reliable commercial generator could mean you enjoy the working week and supply the power onsite to complete that job.
Regardless of the generator’s output, we have the experience and knowledge to service and repair your generator; when working well, a generator will prove to be a solid investment.
We see a lot of customers bring in machines with fuel problems: unleaded petrol goes stale in 30 days, if left in your engine the fuel turns to a lacquer-like consistency, which block up the jets and venturis in the carburettor. The stale fuel also eats away the rubber o-rings and plastic floats in modern carburettors.
Diesel fuel also has problems if left for long periods; algae can grow. This travels through the fuel system, and lodges in the fuel filter and injector pump, causing fuel restriction or total blockage.
Our suggestion with all machines that sit idle for long periods at a time is to use a fuel stabilizer, or completely drain the fuel system after use, to prevent this happening.
Modern brushless inverter generators are great when they are working, but if you ask too much of them they may stop producing electricity all together. When this occurs we need to check what the windings are doing to diagnose if the capacitor has blown, or if you have more serious problems. The capacitor is there as a safety to stop the windings from burning out when the generator is overloaded.
We suggest that you service your generator yearly, so it’s ready to go when you need it. We service and repair petrol and diesel generators: Briggs and Stratton, Engel, Generac, Genquip, Honda, Hyundai, Kincrome, Kohler, Lincoln, Powermate, Robin, Subaru, Yamaha, and many more.
